Grown for us by Alan Mitchell at Equinox Vineyard and made by winemaker Ray Walsh, this classic Willamette Valley Chardonnay is the perfect example of why everyone seems to be so excited about Oregon Chardonnay.
The newest entry to our private label series. If you know me, then you know that there is nothing that excites me in Oregon like Chardonnay. I am convinced that we have the potential to grow some of the best Chardonnays in the world here, maybe second only to Burgundy. And I actually like the South of the Willamette Valley better for chard than the North.
This lovely Chardonnay is grown and made for us by our old friend Alan Mitchell of Territorial Vineyards. This is uniquely Oregon and much more Beaune than Napa. Some specs for you geeks: Grown at Equinox, all Dijon clone 96, 18 months in French oak - 20% new, no ML. This wine should cost twice as much, but we line-priced it with our Pinot Noir
