Coopers Hall partner Phil Kramer is the owner and winemaker of Alexeli Vineyard, in the East Willamette Valley near Molalla/Silverton. Phil purchased the property in 2007; the 18 acre vineyard was planted in the 1980s, is LIVE certified and creates the foundation of sustainability for the Coopers Hall wine brand. The vineyard is planted with Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. At Coopers Hall we joke that most urban wineries come about because the winemaker lives in the city and doesn’t want to commute to the valley to make wine, but it’s actually the opposite in our case!
OBRC REFILLABLE BOTTLES
In 2019 Coopers Hall started a relationship with OBRC (Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative) to put Coopers Hall wine in bottles for the first time. But not just any bottle, an Oregon-made reusable bottle, with a local program to collect, wash and redistribute commercially, so the bottles can be reused and refilled up to 25 times! Coopers Hall was the first winery to join the program, which uses 500 mL brown glass bottles, more widely adopted by breweries and cideries.
These bottles are perfect for parties, picnics, gifts and weeknight drinking. Buy the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir of Rosé, Cascadia White or Pinot Noir on our website or at retailers listed below. When you’re done, redeem at any BottleDrop location and they’ll go right back into the system.
